Summer 2020 is a challening one with regard to planning activitites for families and children who suffer with PTSD. Our horse therapy camp began this past week and the children have been amazing and so responsive to this kind of therapy. They are learning empowerment, coping and self-confidence tools. The camp and campers are closely abiding by COVID-19 instructions and are enjoying each day to the fullest. The parents are texting and calling without stop how grateful they are that their children who are usually so sad are coming home with big smiles and fun stories about their day in camp!
Below are images that reflect important moments of accomplishment for our campers. Thank you dear friends of Operation Embrace, for making these kinds of programs available for children with PTSD - they do make all the positive difference for them!
PROFILE OF ONE OF OUR CAMPERS: Camper H is 10 years old and over many years of hearing sirens, running for shelter and experiened rockets landing near her, has developed acute anxiety and PTSD; this camper fears open spaces and refuses to meet friends. Before the pandemic, Camper H has refused to leave her home. The Operation Embrace (Mivtza Hibuk) Equine Therapy program has given this camper the motivation to go outside and to reconnect with other children.
Thank you for your support!
